About the Role
Consensus Solutions, LLC is looking for a Strategic Communications Specialist to support the Public Affairs Office (PAO) communication and outreach efforts related to a Department of Defense (DoD) client’s Small Business Office activities. Some travel may be required. We are seeking candidates who hold an active Department of Defense security clearance (e.g., Secret or Top Secret clearance). The anticipated start date is mid-to-late February of 2024.
Plan, organize, support, and assess specific outreach events.
Maintain electronic communications media hosted on DoD networks and servers, including web presence, visual displays, and social media engagement.
Develop and refine communication plans and standard operating procedures; and develop and implement a communication strategy, including metrics to track communications effectiveness.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to produce written and/or video communication, newsletters, and training and marketing materials.
Develop clear and concise communications products and materials, including templates, email notifications, newsletters, infographics, executive briefings, dynamic web content, and other artifacts for internal or external audiences.
Construct, prepare, produce, and maintain interactive training and informative webinars.
Evaluate internal processes and identify opportunities for improvements.
Demonstrate forward thinking capabilities, identify risks/opportunities, and support the project team as we drive toward desired outcomes.
Support the documentation of capabilities needed to address business challenges.
Minimum 3 years of relevant and direct communications experience.
Bachelor's Degree or higher in related field, e.g., communications.
Demonstration of strong technical and executive level writing skills.
Experience designing, developing, managing, and executing communication management plans, products, and marketing materials for various media (print, web, video, mobile applications, etc.) in concert with complex set of stakeholders and according to customer requirements.
Must have the ability to communicate well orally and possess excellent writing skills to various levels of management, including data presentations through charts, graphs, and MS PowerPoint.
Experience developing, tracking, and reporting customer success metrics.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, and communication skills, including written, verbal, and interpersonal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to variety of audiences.
Experience producing, planning, organizing, executing, and providing support for virtual and in-person outreach and training events.
Self-starter able to work independently and collaboratively within a team at all levels of client and Consensus Solutions staff.
Flexibility and the ability to react to rapidly changing requirements.
Proficient in MS Office Applications.
Strong written and verbal communication skills – with the ability to manage, facilitate, and lead meetings with senior executives and subject matter experts.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to review own work and the work of others for accuracy.
Demonstrated leadership, analytical, organization, interpersonal, project management, and communication skills.
Understanding of data analytics, visualization, social media outreach, and training design and development.
Ability to provide exceptional client service, research and resolve issues, and demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning.
Preference for candidates to be local to the Washington DC Metropolitan area with the ability to commute locally for meetings, as needed.
Must possess at least a Department of Defense Secret security clearance.
Preferred Additional Qualifications (not required):
Experience working with Adobe suite of programs and course authoring software (Articulate 360, Camtasia, Adobe Captivate, etc.).
Understanding of Section 508 compliance requirements.
Federal experience. DoD experience strongly preferred.
